Newcastle House, Retford, Nottinghamshire

Newcastle House, formerly the Newcastle Arms public house, represented a significant challenge. The building was in poor condition and required comprehensive repair and refurbishment to bring it into effective use for the 21st century. The external fabric was repaired and the interior radically improved and altered in order to provide 5 no. residential apartments and a ground floor office. An old outbuilding was also reconstructed and repaired to provide an additional residential unit. The project was undertaken on behalf of Trinity Hospital Estates.
